2008 Angelicus Unwooded Chardonnay

This Chardonnay is an example of how good unwooded Chardonnay can be from the Pemberton Region.  It was picked in two parcels from the 1 hectare block of Mendoza clone Chardonnay which ripened earlier than usual so that harvest was February and the first week in March being two week’s apart.

The fruit in the first batch was hand harvested and the second picked at night then rushed down by refrigerated transport to Vintage Wineworx in the Porongorups for Di Miller and Greg Jones to work their magic.

The resulting wine exhibits a lower alcohol than usual of 11.2% v/v but despite this packs a punch with intense fresh sherbet like lemon and grapefruit flavours, with citrus and orange blossom on the nose.

Delicious served chilled on a hot summer’s day with seafood and salads.

$18.00 per bottle

$216 per dozen
