2005 Cleavage Cabernet Merlot
This was a great year for red grapes in some parts of the Pemberton region. Middlesex benefits from a slight rain shadow so we were able to get our fruit to full ripeness, and this is evident by the lusciousness of this wine.
It is made from fifty per cent Merlot and fifty per cent Cabernet Sauvignon, the Merlot had some American oak influence and the Cabernet Sauvignon some French oak influence. This wine was made to be very approachable and offers deep plum and blackcurrant flavours with a little oak richness and lovely dark fruit aromas.
